Chat Archive is designed with privacy at its core. This app processes all your imported chat content entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal messages or media on our servers—because we don’t even have servers. The app works fully offline when processing your data.

What data do we access?

Chat Archive accesses exported chat data from apps like WhatsApp, which you manually import. This data remains on your device and is never transmitted or uploaded elsewhere.

Do we collect any personal data?

We do not collect or access your messages, contacts, or media. These remain private and on-device.

Do we use analytics or tracking?

Yes. Starting June 2025, we use Firebase and Google Analytics to collect **anonymized, aggregated usage data**—such as which features are used and how often the app is opened. This data helps us improve app performance and prioritize features. No personal chat content, contact names, or message contents are ever collected or analyzed by us or third parties.

What data is collected?

How is this data used?

This data helps us understand general patterns of app usage to improve stability and usability. It is never sold, shared, or used to build user profiles or deliver ads.

App Permissions

Chat Archive may request permission to access your files in order to load and process exported chat backups. This permission is used strictly for core functionality and no file contents are ever transmitted off-device.

Third Parties

We use the following third-party services in a limited, privacy-conscious manner:

• Google Firebase: for crash reporting, basic analytics, and performance monitoring
• Google Analytics: to understand app usage trends (aggregated and anonymized)

These services may collect technical identifiers (such as your device type or crash logs), but they do not access or process your personal chat content. We do not sell or share your data with any advertisers.

Children’s Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it immediately.
